- Due to its remote location, flycamping here is like no other – with a campfire and ice-cold drinks on arrival, a three-course dinner under the stars, and the sounds of the bush lullaby at bedtime.
- It’s really wild! An age limit of 12 because towards the end of the dry season elephants are in camp most days, and it is not uncommon to have lions wander through. Nothing alarming, and safety is priority, but this has always been the safari for the matured.
- Towards the end of dry reason when water is scarce, hippos and crocs battle for water, which in inevitably results in a serious scrap or two. Katavi is full of extraordinary phenomena that cannot be found anywhere else in Africa.6 tents

LOCATION / GETTING THERE
Mahale and Katavi are over 500kms from Arusha which makes access challenging.
Shared Charter flights every Monday & Thursday 0800 from Arusha / (Serengeti at supplement) / Tabora (refuel & loo stop) / Katavi / Mahale / Tabora / (Serengeti at supplement) / returning to Arusha 1800.
Additional scheduled flights are also available to/from the South/Dar/ Zanzibar.
The camp can also arrange private charters throughout the region.
Transfers between Mahale airstrip & camp are by boat (an hour and a half).
