Fish River Lodge is situated on the western rim of the Fish River Canyon and should not be confused with the Hobas Viewpoint on the eastern rim, as this will add significant time to your travels should you make this error.

From Windhoek:

Journey south on the B1 from Windhoek towards Keetmanshoop, via Rehoboth, Mariental, Gibeon and Tses, for 498 kilometres.
Once in Keetmanshoop, refuel and then take the B4 in a westerly direction for 72 kilometres.
Turn left onto the D463 gravel road.
Continue the D463 for 85 kilometres, which can take up to 2 hours depending on the condition of the road.
The turnoff to the lodge on the left is signposted, and this access road is the final stretch of 19 kilometres.
Although a 4×4 vehicle with higher clearance is best suited for this short distance, sedan vehicles can complete it if driven slowly. It is advisable to check the conditions of this road with the lodge in advance.

From Lüderitz:

Exit Lüderitz on the B4 in an easterly direction towards Keetmanshoop.
After about 244 kilometres you will reach the D463, and please turn right.
Continue the D463 for 85 kilometres, which can take up to 2 hours depending on the condition of the road.
The turnoff to the lodge on the right is signposted, and this access road is the final stretch of 19 kilometres.

From Rosh Pinah:

Exit Rosh Pinah in a northerly direction on the C13.
After approximately 47 kilometres, turn right onto the D463.
Once on the D463 gravel road, continue for approximately 150 kilometres.
The turnoff to the lodge on the right is signposted, and this access road is the final stretch of 19 kilometres.

Important Travel Notes:

Do not take the C12 to the Fish River Canyon, as this will take you to the eastern side of the canyon. This will mean that you must backtrack the entire route to correct this as there is no access to Fish River Lodge directly.
Please always refuel whenever possible as the closest town is 150 kilometres from the lodge and might be in an alternative direction to your planned onward route.
Plan plenty of time for your journey so that you can enjoy the scenic drive and arrive in daylight, or at the least in time to watch the sun set over the canyon.
